    Plans are underway to celebrate 200 years of rich and vibrant history.
    Please join us as we showcase historic sites, commemorate historical
    events, and encourage residents and visitors to explore and learn more
    about this special place.

July 4 County 4th of July Celebration- Special prizes for the best
Bicentennial floats; Bicentennial booth in the park; fireworks

July 8-10 Bemus Point-Stow Ferry Celebrates 200 Years

July 23 Bemus Point-Stow Ferry Bicentennial Dinner Dance - Casino at
Bemus Point, 6-11:30 PM, Buffet dinner,
dancing with Razz @ Friends, Chinese Auction

July 25-31 County Fair- Bicentennial booths in Commercial Building

August 5-7 Civil War Encampment at McClurg Museum, Westfield

August 13-14 Bicentennial History Fair- Over 50 historical groups and reeanctors
will come together for displays & demonstrations, Chautauqua
Suites, Mayville

August 21 Miller Bell Tower 100th Anniversary- Chautauqua Institution

September 19 100 Years of Kling Furniture Manufacturing- program by Bill
& Jim Kling; sponsored by CCHS & Carroll Historical Society

September 24 Day long workshop for Historians-Chautauqua Institution

Passport to History - Passport holders can earn points & win prizes for each of 16
historical events and/or sites that they will visit throughout the county in
2011. Passports will be available for purchase beginning February 9.

Bicentennial Biographies - 200 historically significant individuals from the County will
be highlighted in one minute biographies to be aired on local radio
stations. Starting in January, 5 individuals will be featured each
week, and then posted on the County Historical Society website for
the remainder of the year.
